Product Review: Starlooks’ January Starbox

I am more than thrilled that I was given this opportunity to do another review for Starlooks – one of my favorite companies to do product reviews for! I received the January Starbox that originally retails for $63 and contains the following items:

The “Cuty Peach” Blush Compact is a gorgeous, pure, peach toned blush that is super color saturated! A little goes a long way with this product! It’s perfect for the spring and with a tiny amount of gold pearlescence, this blush can also provide a bit of highlight to your cheek bones. (Starlooks Retail Price is $12)

The 858 Dome Brush is made from 100% pure, cruelty-free pony hair and is super soft to the touch. It’s the perfect tool for blending eye shadow and eye liner smoothly, for that smokey effect. You can use it in the corner of the eyes, eye lid or under the lash line. It’s also great for packing on pigments or loose shadows. (Starlooks Retail Price is $15)

Product Review: Ateevia Botanica Pain Relief Cream

I regularly go to the gym with my husband, as we arehealthy and active lifestyle aficionados. However, some of the trade offs of working out on a regular basis are body aches and occasional muscle pain. Needless to say, I never run low on liniments, creams and muscle pain gels in my medicine cabinet.

I was very excited to have been given this chance to do a product review on Ateevia Botanica – an extraordinary, natural formula that is one of the most therapeutic topical anti-inflammatories existing today.

The free version allows you to access a few set of outfits and backgrounds that you can mix and match. Influenster’s Holiday Voxbox 2012

I always get excited when I get Voxboxes from Influenster, because I am pretty sure that they’ll send me products that I’ll adore. This year’s Holiday Voxbox is no exception because they included goodies that I have been thinking of getting/trying.

Here are the products included in the Holiday Voxbox:

A $25 Discount Coupon for Sole Society.  This is a pretty sweet deal ‘coz not only was Influenster kind enough to send me this coupon…the site is also holding a BOGO sale! Women love shoes…that’s a given and I am no exception to the rule. =)

Montagne Jeunesse Face Mask. I love pampering my skin and I have always been a huge fan of face masks. I have never tried this particular brand but I am sure that I’ll enjoy it. The label states that it’s jam packed with the most delicious natural ingredients and is bursting with luscious juicy fragrance. Can’t wait to try it out!

NYC New York Liquid Lipshine. This product retails for $2.49 and supposedly, it’s pure pigment ingredients create a 3-D gloss effect while Vitamin E provides shine and moisture to the lips. This product is non-sticky and available in 10 shades that varies from neutral nudes, berries and fuschias.

EBoost. This product retails for $28 for a box of 20 effervescent powders, $39 for a box of 30 and $39 for a box of 12 shots. It will boost your mood, focus and immunity with natural ingredients and the great thing about this is there is no “crash”. I have tried this product before, as it was one of the samples included in my Influenster Beauty Voxbox 2012. I must say that it tastes good and it gives a good energy boost – a great way to jump start the day specially if you’re thinking of heading out to the gym for a workout.

Goody Quikstyle Paddle Brush. This retails for $11.99 and it truly is a wonderful product for people with long hair like myself. It has super absorbent microfiber bristles that removes up to 30% of water as you style. It truly is like a towel and brush in one!

Kiss Naill Dress.  This product retails for $6.99 per pack and it truly is the ultimate nail fashion for tips and toes. It’s perfect for lazy people like myself who wants beautiful nails but don’t always have time/artistic ability to do their nails or go to the salon.

Quaker Real Medleys Oatmeal. A cup retails for $1.79 and can be enjoyed on the go. Whole grain oats, rye, barley and wheat are mixed with large chunks of fruits and nuts in a convenient single serve cup. Just add hot water or put it in a microwave and you can have breakfast ready anytime and anywhere.

Product Review: Hillhouse Naturals Candles

Candles have always been a “smell good staple” in our home and I am very honored to be given this chance to do a product review on Hillhouse Natural’s Candles. Hillhouse Naturals is a family-owned business that began in 1986. They make quality fragrance products and offer a variety of home fragrance products such as potpourri, candles, sachets, oils, fragrance mists and diffuser reeds.

The candles that were graciously sent to me for review purposes are as follows:

FRENCH VELVET GLASS CANDLE

The French Velvet Glass Candle is truly a fragrant affair. It is a 7 ounce candle in glass that has notes of jasmine and hyacinth exquisitely arranged atop blushing violet and white musk. I truly enjoyed burning this particular candle while relaxing in the tub. Nothing beats a warm bubble bath and a burning candle – it’s the perfect cure to a stressful day and a luxurious remedy for those aches and body pains.

MEYER LEMON AND ROSEMARY CANDLE IN GLASS WECK JAR DOUBLE WICK

This 7 ounce Meyer Lemon & Rosemary double wick candle was inspired by trips to a farmer’s market. These candles are housed in authentic Weck canning jars from Germany. Complete with metal spring clamp lid that can be used for making preserves after the candle has burned down. I love the clean and refreshing smell that this candle has when its burning and the fact that it burns evenly. Also,  it is made from high quality materials and it does not have that overpowering wax smell that some candles from local stores/groceries have – I’m sure all you candle aficionados out there can relate to this. What you read on the label is the actual smell that you will get – I love it!

 I am very pleased with the candles that I received from Hillhouse Naturals and I think they will be one of my “go to brands” moving forward. I normally go for brands that I have tried in the past because I know that they burn evenly and do not have that “overly waxy smell” that I immensely dislike. Hillhouse Natural’s candles met all of my expectations…and then some. I absolutely adore the fact that their containers are not only beautiful but they’re reusable as well. That’s a big brownie point for the recycling fanatic in me!
